Handmade Rattle

We've received many lovely baby gifts, including this lovely handmade baby rattle. I love the birds-eye maple, and the finish is silky smooth. It's just gorgeous. We received a similar rattle with the birth of our first child. These are definitely going into the "for keeps" box once the little ones are finished gnawing and banging them. So lovely. Thanks, Jeff and Sue!

Christmas Cactus Glory

If there's one thing I can grow, it's a Christmas cactus. I bought this thing about 10 years ago at Fred Meyer. It had about 4 branches with 3 segments each when I bought it. And it has simply exploded. I love it. It's a family thing. My grandmother has one that's 54 years old! Isn't that amazing? I hope this one survives that long.

Welcome Little One

We've been busy around our house...welcoming our second child. He was born Saturday, October 24th at 7:46 a.m. 8 pounds 12 ounces with a full head of sandy blonde hair. Isn't he beautiful? Best thing I've made in a while...

Vintage Kitchen

Can I tell you how much I love to have an old-fashioned utensil or item in the kitchen? It just makes me feel so connected to all the other people who've ever stood over a stove cooking for their families. And I LOVE when I find an especially original item for the kitchen.
I've got about 40 listings in the Kitchen section of my Rush of Wings store. Please browse on through...you might just find something so original you must have it!

Scrapbook Art Collages

This was my original love. Paper collages. I'm sure you've all seen my t-shirts, which are really an extension of these collages, but this is where it all began. I've only managed to make a few so far, but hope to tackle a few more in the New Year.
The best part is that I simply can use a scrapbooking square as the background, which makes framing these for baby's room a cinch. Every craft store, and some of the big-box stores, sell scrapbook frames. Just pop your original collage in and... original art in your child's room! Easy peasy. Check them out at Chickadee Child in the Art and Tapestry section.
